Organiser "Baptism by wind"
This was my first attempt at organising an event so many thanks to all the people
who guided me through it especially Hilary Hodgkinson, and all the helpers.
I now know just how vital the helpers are and must try it,
since I somehow missed out on this natural stage to becoming organiser.
It was always going to be borderline whether the event was going ahead or not.
It looked from the weather forecast that we would miss the worst of the rains
and winds and conditions early in the morning on the ground confirmed this.
But an exceptionally strong gust at noon blew two trees down near the start
and the starts were closed.
All orienteers returned without incidence apparently enjoyed the challenging conditions and courses.
The weather then vastly improved, the winds died and sun came out, hard to believe I know.
Well the silver lining to the cloud is that I will never have to organise an event in more difficult weather conditions, since I will just cancel it!

Planner
I hope you all enjoyed your courses despite the conditions.
As the undergrowth in Thieves Wood is still high at this time of year,
in a lot of the area I tried to plan courses to avoid as much of it as possible.
This is why on the longer courses there were lots of cross overs to
allow short legs in the light green which is very runnable with long
route choice legs in between.
Thanks to my controller Ray Barnes for all his help.
